IMPORTANT DEADLINE

Massachusetts employers have through today Monday, September 30, 2019 to ensure they distribute Individual notices to their employees.

Going forward, you will have 30 days in which to inform new employees with this notice; we recommend adding this document to your standard employee on-boarding packages.

For employers of 25 or more covered individuals…

The total contribution is 0.75% of eligible wages (those wages up to the social security limit) of which 0.62% of eligible wages go into the Medical Leave bucket and 0.13% goes into the Family leave bucket. The employer pays a minimum of 60% to the medical leave contributions – the employer has the option to contribute to the covered individual share if you so choose. The employee pays a maximum of 40% to the medical leave portion and 100% of the family leave. Employers of fewer than 25 covered individuals have no minimum contribution.
